Governing Body

Our governors are representatives of the local community, parent and school staff . They work closely with the Trustee Board of SLP Multi Academy Trust. Our governors bring a range of interests, knowledge and skills to the school, whilst working in a voluntary capacity.

 

Annfield Plain Junior School's Governing Body is responsible, in partnership with SLP, for ensuring that the school is run to promote the very best of outcomes for children.

​

Its duties include:

  • supporting the Trust Board and the school's Senior Leadership Team in setting strategic direction, school policies and objectives;

  • providing appropriate challenge and support to the headteacher.

​

The Governing Body is made up of:

  • parents governors (elected by parents);

  • staff representatives (elected by school staff);

  • community governors (appointed by the governing body);

  • A  SLP trustee can be invited to attend governor meetings at anytime, during each academic year.

Governor Structure

Mrs Janine Marshall is our Link Trustee.

Statutory Guidance for Governing Bodies

Annfield Plain Junior School adheres to the statutory guidance from the Department of Education. This means that governing bodies must have regard for it, when carrying out duties relating to the constitution of governing bodies.

How To Become A School Governor

Our school always welcomes interest in becoming a governor. We are part of SLP multi-academy trust (SLP). If you are interested in becoming a school governor don’t hesitate to come and see us or, alternatively, visit SLP for further information on the roles and responsibilities of school governors.

Currently, there are no parent governor or community governor vacancies.

Annual Governance Statement for the Governing Body of Annfield Plain Junior School

In accordance with the Government’s requirements for all governing bodies, the three core strategic functions of Annfield Plain Junior School’s Governing Body are:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;

  • Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils;
